People often ask how I got into this line of work. I have a creative background in writing and acting, and I recently spent time working as a postman for Royal Mail, delivering to every corner of Huntingdonshire. I loved walking the Fens and chatting with residents, many of whom told me they felt overwhelmed by the clutter in their homes.
But the real spark for Hunt 'n' Haul didn't come from a casual chat. It came from a personal experience last summer that changed everything.
My best friend's father died suddenly. He had lived in St. Ives his whole life, and over the decades, he had accumulated a life's worth of furniture, books, and memories. My friend, who is practically family to me, was grieving, and suddenly he and his sister were faced with all this stuff to sort through. I stepped in to help. We had to make difficult decisions: what to keep, what could be sold, what could be donated, and what simply had to go.
It was an incredibly difficult time, physically and emotionally. But as we worked, I realised something profound: Families don't just need "manpower" during these times. They need compassion. They need someone they can trust to handle a lifetime of memories with kindness, patience, and respect.
I realised that Huntingdon needed a service that understood this.
And so, Hunt 'n' Haul was born.

The Haul — Once the treasures are safe, we clear the rest responsibly. We're Environment Agency registered (CBDU618952) and committed to zero-landfill wherever possible. We recycle, we donate, and we ensure everything is disposed of legally and ethically.
